Welcome friends of the Água Boa
It was an absolutely fantastic week of fishing at Água Boa Amazon Lodge!
It’s wonderful when that feeling of time flying by confirms you’re having an amazing experience. It certainly sounds like Charlie N, Charlie P, Bill, Frank, Emmet, Matt, Mark, Pouss, Carter, JJ, Michael, and Davis were a great group to share the adventure with.
Hearing about the exceptional number of fish caught and safely released is a testament to the health of the Água Boa River.
The presence of several specimens over 10 lbs, a good number over 15 lbs, and those ferocious 17 lbs Peacock Bass must have made for some truly memorable battles with the “king of our waters.”
The continued drop in the river level, making the golden sand beaches more visible, signals excellent conditions.
The consistent diversity of species the river offers adds a lot of excitement to the fishing.
That’s a crucial tip to reiterate about the leader size! It’s easy for anglers to focus just on the pound test, but highlighting that the recommendation for 40 and 50 lbs is primarily about the diameter of the line and its ability to withstand constant abrasion from the Peacock Bass’s mouth is very helpful.
It’s the best way to ensure you land those big fish and don’t lose your flies.
