Lance Ranger – Owner since 2007

Lance Ranger, Lodge Owner of Agua Boa Amazon Lodge

Lance purchased the lodge in 2007 from Dr. Jan Wilt. With Lance’s ownership, has come a commitment to strengthening the conservation protections on the river, enhancing the fishing program, and improving every aspect of the guests’ experience at the Lodge. Lance is a life-long fisherman and a former guest of the lodge. You could say he liked the lodge so much that he purchased it. When Lance is not overseeing the lodge management, he operates a trust company in Switzerland, and manages two charities that he has founded.

Previous visitors to the lodge will remember our fluent English speaking Camp Manager, Carlos Azevedo. Originally from Portugal, Carlos has worked closely with the new, European lodge owners to bring newly improved standards of service to the Lodge. We believe that earlier visitors to the Lodge will notice a positive difference! Pictured above from left to right are Carlos (Lodge manager), Lance Ranger (Lodge owner), and one of our resident hosts. Our resident hosts are all fly-fishing professionals and are at the lodge to work with Carlos to make sure that your week lives up to your expectations. Please let them know if you have any concerns, would like to try something different, or would like a casting lesson before fishing. They are at the lodge to help you.

Many weeks during the Season will be ‘hosted’ by well known and respected figures from the international fly-fishing community. More details of these events will be posted from time to time on this website.

Grounds Coordinator in Manaus

Carlos (Lodge Manager), Lance Ranger (Lodge owner), and one of our resident hosts

We have an English speaking representative in Manaus who will greet our guests upon arrival at Manaus International Airport. He will arrange for the transfer to their chosen hotel. Our grounds coordinator will be happy to assist any guest in providing local information regarding the history of Manaus, trips, excursions, restaurants to visit, etc.*

The following morning, the grounds coordinator will again arrange for the next transfer in order for guests to take the private charter flight that will take guests to the Lodge.

On returning from a week’s fishing at the Agua Boa Amazon Lodge, our grounds coordinator will be on hand to either transfer guests to Manaus International Airport for their onward connecting flight or for their transfer to their hotel.

*Hotels, trips, excursions, taxis, and additional transfers other than those mentioned above are not included in the trip package.
