Welcome, friends of Água Boa Amazon Lodge.
The sky was overcast this week, and a few drops of rain refreshed the atmosphere, turning the surrounding nature a vibrant green. Despite the light rain, water levels remained stable, and fishing conditions were consistent.

It is incredibly rewarding to host a group of fishermen where more than half are returning friends and frequent visitors.
We want to thank Angling Destinations for bringing us another excellent group, though we were saddened that our friend Scott Heywood could not join us due to unforeseen circumstances. We look forward to seeing him again soon.

A heartfelt thank you to John, Anna, Jim, Alice, Doug (“the bird man”), David, Erick, Bob, Mike, Peter, Mitchel, Jonathan, and the brothers, John and Layne H.
We all shared an excellent week on many levels.

The light rainfall made the water slightly murky, which proved a minor challenge for sight fishing. Even so, the numbers of fish caught and released were impressive:
We saw an extraordinary number of fish between 6 and 12 lbs. These “teenagers” provide fierce battles that often leave marks on the gloves and fingers of our guests.

A significant number of fish exceeding 12 lbs. produced excellent photos and memorable battles.
The variety of species that strike a fly here at Água Boa remains unparalleled and is one of the primary attractions of our river.
In short, it was another “Água Boa level” week—full of smiles, stories told, and new ones waiting to be shared.

All previous recommendations regarding fishing equipment and personal items remain current:
Intermediate lines continue to be the most effective, though other lines may be used depending on local conditions.
It is vital to have 40 or 50 lb. tippets available; peacock bass are notorious for breaking even the strongest lines.

Fly patterns between 2 and 5 inches—specifically those with white and a bit of “flash” for contrast—have worked very well.
With the rain and increased humidity, no-see-ums are active. High-quality insect repellent is essential.
We strongly recommend reviewing the pre-trip list before arrival.

As a new week begins at Água Boa, new wishes and dreams are about to be fulfilled. Old and new friends alike are ready to share their experiences and the pure joy of the Água Boa experience.
See you next week
Água Boa Team
