Welcome, friends of Água Boa.

Words that mingle, voices that echo and turn into smiles—this was the week that just passed.

We hosted the most spirited group of the season (all our groups are great), a crew with an extraordinary sense of humor that truly brought the lodge to life.

The river continues to reveal its golden beaches as the water level drops almost imperceptibly.
The fishing habitat remains steady and prime.

While it can feel repetitive to speak only of numbers, sizes, and species, the Água Boa River is consistently the Água Boa.
It has its ups and downs, but it always maintains its world-class standard.

It was a phenomenal week across the board.
We saw a high volume of fish in every weight class:
A great number of fish weighing over 15 lbs.
A very strong showing of fish between 10 and 15 lbs.
An extraordinary count of fish in the 7 to 10 lb range.

Arapaima made a grand appearance this week.
Congratulations to Clay for landing a magnificent specimen weighing approximately 180 lbs.

Congratulations to John H. for an equally extraordinary arapaima, weighing between 60 and 70 lbs.

Beyond the Peacocks and Arapaima, the river offered the incredible variety only this system can provide:
Payara, Oscar, Wolf Fish, Piranha, Dogfish, Bicuda, Arowana, and the rare (in our river system) Sardinata.
All of them were eager to chase the fly.

On a special note, the wildlife of this region has shown itself in full glory.
From the monkeys, deer, and capybaras to the elusive tapir, the jungle is alive.
Most notably, the magnificent Jaguars have graced us with their presence this season, posing for photos more than any year in recent memory.

The diversity of birds, defined by a kaleidoscope of colors and sounds, remains unparalleled.

A heartfelt thank you, John Herzer, for a fantastic week and unforgettable moments.
A sincere thank you to Clay, Lyle, Dan, Darcy, Tracy, Chris, Bart, Wendy, Mark, Kevin, Jim, Schwartz, Brandon, and M. Churchman.
It was an immense pleasure to share these days of fishing, relaxation, and fun with you.

Time passes between melancholy, joy, and the rewarding fatigue of a day’s work well done.

Água Boa: Recreating memories and remaking stories.

See you next week
