Água Boa is Open!

The 2025-2026 Season Begins

we are thrilled to kick off another incredible fishing season!

Our opening day was Saturday, October 18th, and we’re welcoming both our long-time regulars and new friends with immense joy.

This year, you’ll notice a huge difference in our facilities and our environmental philosophy. We listened to your suggestions and invested heavily, making Água Boa greener and more comfortable than ever.

In our Commitment to Sustainabiliti,we are proud to announce major steps toward environmental independence:Goodbye, Plastic: We invested in an artesian well and a state-of-the-art filtration system. The result? We’ve ditched plastic bottles! You can now safely drink the tap water (which is regularly tested).

Solar Transition: We’re on our way to becoming fully energy independent. Our transition to 100% solar energy will be completed before the end of this year.

Renovated Comfort: Beyond sustainability, our infrastructure has been fully renovated to provide greater comfort and convenience, ensuring every moment of your stay is first-class.

At Água Boa, we’ve changed everything so that nothing essential has changed…

The facilities are new, but the legendary fishing remains a gift to all who visit! We started the season by welcoming a fantastic group led by our friend Frans Jansen. Thank you to all of our guests this week: Frans, Steve, Scott, Dick, Diane, Harald, David, Rick, Jack, Rusty, Gene, Mitch, Arthur, and Noah.

We began with water levels a little higher than normal, but the river level is now visibly dropping. The week had some clouds and rain, but conditions are improving.

Despite the elevated water, the fishing quality was well within expectations and rewarding for those using a fly rod. Guests shared countless photos of Peacock Bass over 10 lbs, alongside other amazing species caught and quickly released, including Aruanã, Pirarucu, Jacundá, and Piranha.

As always, the number of fish caught and released at Água Boa remains above average compared to other rivers. To maximize your success with the current river conditions, please note the following tackle recommendations:

Lines: Sinking and intermediate lines are the top choices. However, keeping floating lines handy—catching a peacock bass with a popper is an incredible visual experience!

Tippet: A 40 or 50 lbs hard mono tippet is strongly recommended.

Flies: Use flies that are 4 to 6 inches long; a contrasting white color always seems to work best.

Don’t forget your finger sleeves, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a good pair of polarized sunglasses—they make all the difference.

Our first week has ended, saying goodbye to old friends and welcoming the new.

May the week that is now beginning be extraordinary!

See you next week
