Welcome, friends of Água Boa Amazon Lodge.

Merry Christmas from the Água Boa Amazon Lodge team!

It has been a peaceful week spent among clients and friends—a well-deserved rest for our entire team. While we didn’t stop our activities, we did slow down our pace a little this week.
However, the speed at which the fish chased the fly certainly didn’t diminish. As a Christmas gift for those who spent the holidays with us, Água Boa and its surrounding nature presented our fishing friends with incredible moments.

The Arapaima fishing was phenomenal, which is remarkable considering they aren’t even our primary target fish!
The unparalleled variety of species here always surprises first-time visitors. From Oscar, Piranha, and Wolf fish to Payara, Bicuda, and Dogfish, the list goes on. The peacock bass, our true target species, were ever-present, displaying their legendary strength and stunning colors while challenging the agility and dexterity of our guests.

If the symbol of Christmas is twinkling lights, those lights were constantly reflected in the golden ripples created each time a fly fisherman challenged and captured their prey.

The water levels continue to drop, further defining the outlines of the beaches. We experienced a very cloud-heavy week, which provided extra comfort during the heat of the day.
On Christmas Eve, a torrential rain fell; for about 20 minutes, it felt as though all the water in the world was pouring over Água Boa. That is the true essence of the rainforest.

A Special Note
It is always wonderful to receive visits from friends who feel like family (they are family).
David and Jackson Wanderer spent some time with us.

The years have certainly passed; the first time Jackson visited us, he could barely hold a fly rod. Now, he poses for photos with extraordinary Arapaima and beautiful Peacock Bass.

As we enter the New Year, the Água Boa Amazon Lodge family wishes all our friends—both those who have visited and those who will join us in the future;
Happy New Year! May it be filled with good times, good health, and, most importantly, many profound interactions between fishermen, fish, and nature.

See you next week
