Friends of the Água Boa

Once again the curtain closed on the last week of fishing, but the scenes in this play showed the power, beauty and constant renewal of the Água Boa River.
Scott Hamilton brought us an extremely fun group, but a professional group when it comes to fishing.

Butch, Kyle, Jason, Clint, Mark, David, Chris and Scott had an excellent week, fishing like pros and having fun like it should be.
A special word to our friend Phil Lighty who has visited us every year since 2005, a visit interrupted only by the dark times of Covid, thanks for the friendship and loyalty.

Finally, the magnificent Pirarucus showed up in all their glory and cooperated with our fishing friends.
Beautiful specimens were caught and quickly returned to their natural habitat after the usual photos.

Ranging in weight from 50 to 150 pounds, they delighted those who were privileged to have an open fight with them.
Well done, Jason, Kyle, Butch……
The variety of fish this week was also a highlight.
Oscars, Bicudas, Arowanas, Piranhas, Pacus among others made the photos taken in a catalog of species.

We don’t need to mention the numbers of fish, Água Boa is unique in this sense.
Fish over 10 lbs were the constant and in above average numbers.
Between 15 lbs and 19 lbs, all our anglers had their photo to share with their friends later.

Words are only accessories to describe the daily scenes, and my words are insufficient to describe with clarity and precision the reality of each day here in Água Boa.
I hope to give at least an approximate picture.

As the days go by, the beaches become more golden and exposed.
Walking on the fine sand, trying to spot the fish moving so you can cast the fly and catch the fish, is one of the most extraordinary moments we can experience on the Água Boa River.
And these moments are frequent.

And so, another group and another week that ends… Or, nothing really ends on the Água Boa River…

See you next week
