• Fishing shoes such as an old pair of sneakers or Tevas
• Socks for fishing each day to prevent sunburn
• Shoes for camp
• Shorts
• Fishing pants (2 pairs) Minimal clothing is required for this trip as there is daily laundry service.
• Swimsuit
• Shirts – 2 or 3 long sleeve with hood for fishing, short sleeve for camp
• Light raincoat
• Sungloves (2 pairs)
• 2 Buffs

• Toiletries
• Reading glasses
• Portuguese dictionary
• Bug repellent or OFF wipes (There are no mosquitos at the lodge. Depending on which month you come we do have no see-um’s at dusk and dawn. There are mosquitos in Manaus)
• Sunscreen & chap-stick
• Binoculars-optional
• Polarized sunglasses- 2 pairs – green lenses
• Sunglass cleaning rag to keep in your dry bag during the day
• Adapter for your electronics in Manaus and at the airport (the lodge has 110 V similar to the USA)
• Shampoo
• Electrolytes (LMNT Zero-Sugar Electrolytes)
• Water bottle to refill with our 5 gallon jug at the lodge to reduce using plastic water bottles. We do provide plastic water bottles if you forget your water bottle.
• Medications such as Advil, Tylenol, Aleve After Bite Stick, Neosporin, Cortisone Cream, Imodium
• Suggested Medications from Doctor due to the remote nature of the lodge- Azithromycin (Z-pack), Ciprofloxacin,Zophran, Mupirocin

• Two or three 8/9 weight rods are recommended for peacock bass. We suggest a large arbor reel with a great drag for your reel. (Loaner rod and reels are available at the lodge)
• Tropical lines work best in the heat. We recommend the Rio Outbound Floating
• Rio Tropical F/I Intermediate Line 10 or 15 feet clear tip
• 200 or 300 grain sink tip
• Tippet: Between .022 – .027 / 30-40 pounds hard mono
• Hook sharpener
• Pliers
• Fishing hat, make sure it has good sun protection
• Sturdy rod case (preferably one that you can carry on the plane)
• Line nippers
• Stripping glove or sleeve
• Boga Grip (Guides usually have, but as the season wears on, they can be scarce)

Peacock Bass Flies:

We sell flies at the camp that are specifically designed for the Agua Boa so you may want to consider having us provide your flies. Bring roughly 3 dozen total flies.
