em vindo de novo, amantes do Tucunaré, to the Agua Boa Amazon Lodge Fishing Report.

Now into the final week of fishing for the 2018-19 season, we are happily busy wrapping things up in our little parallel universe here in the jungle. The staff is busy entertaining our last week of guests while the guides are busy searching out adventure and indelible memories for all.
Last week we enjoyed a visit by a group of skilled fly fishers from the Rocky Mountain West, led by new Angling Destinations travel company honchos Peter Widener and Cole Burnham. Without exception, this group was front-to-back stacked with excellent fishers and seasoned fly fishing adventurers all making their first visits to the lodge. And as you might expect, they are already planning their return for next season!

Fishing highlights for the week included several encounters with the elusive giant Pirarucu. While many had shots, and a few were hooked, top honors went to John Ritterbusch who landed a true monster around midweek with assistance from his wife Penny and guide, Joseph. John and Penny then backed it up by landing a few trophy peacocks in the afternoon. Just another amazing day on the Rio Agua Boa!
After a long week fishing, Dexter Levandoski the new global sales manager for Patagonia, also landed is Pirarucu.
Congratulations guys…..

The best highlight of the week, however, had to be Peter Widener’s back-to-back jaguar sightings on two consecutive days. The first was a beautiful black cat that posed defiantly for several minutes before melting into the fringe of the jungle, affording Peter the rare opportunity to take a series of crisp close-up photos to commemorate the wildlife sighting of a lifetime. The very next day, he spied another, this time a golden spotted once as it scrambled out of sight of a beach.

Thanks as always for checking in with the Agua Boa Amazon Lodge Fishing Report. As we entertain our last week of guests for the season and our dedicated staff prepare to transition back to family, friends, and their homes, we take a moment to appreciate all the wonderful guests who visit our little jungle paradise and make this all possible. We truly couldn’t do this without all of you. Muito Obrigado!
