The second week of the season, which began in grand “Agua Boa Style”, with many hopes and expectations, has happily exceeded all of them!!

The water level has continued to drop modestly this week, which begins to open up many of our beautiful fine sandy beaches…. great places from which to ambush shoals of large basking peacocks… greedy for the fly.

Excellent sight-fishing opportunities up and down river were enjoyed by our latest fly-fishing guests this week, a lovely mix of new and old friends, some of whom were already used to the amazing fishing experience that Agua Boa offers.

Every day of the week showed strong fish numbers. A large number of the fish caught ranged between 10 and 15 lbs.

Our biggest peacock this week was a beauty of 17lbs!

Altogether, a very satisfying week for our guests, leaving everyone with plenty to smile about!

There were further opportunities to hook Arapaima (Pirarucu), and our new client and friend, Josh Polan hooked and landed a beautiful Pirarucu, in excess of 50 lbs, while his wife Judy was enjoying the beauties of the local fauna,Judy also showed her own fly-fishing prowess on the river, hooking and landing some very good size peacock bass!

We thank all our friends (new and old) who visit us every season and also remember our dedicated agents who bring them to us. Traditionally Archie and Barbara Adams accompany their friends this week. They were sorely missed and we at the Agua Boa hope to see them next season, with energy and good health here at the Agua Boa!

This week`s reminder:

Don`t forget important items that will make your stay here much more comfortable such as:

  • Repellent
  • Sunscreen
  • Electrolyte rehydration powder
  • Gloves, and strip-finger guards

We will be back next week, until then, keep your lines clean and your fly rods ready…

The Agua Boa is waiting for you!
